GeneralYamaha APX models have been a studio and stage favourite since the ’80s. Incredible amplified sound shaped by tight bass, bright mids and deliciously balanced trebles. The APX700II only follows the tradition by offering an excellent acoustic foundation sound formed by a solid spruce top and Nato back and sides. The comfortably slim body comes with an elegantly sloped cutaway enabling eased access to each of the 23 frets while beautifully worked bindings finish the edges of the body, neck and headstock and an elegant wooden inlay rosette encircles the sound hole.

The APX700II and the A.R.T. System

Most standard electro-acoustic models use a built-in pizo strip installed at the bridge. Taking things more than a step further, the APX700II comes supported by Yamaha’s highly exclusive Acoustic Resonance Transducer pick up system. This system is mounted inside the guitar and under the bridge for fully optimised acoustic reproduction. The multi-layered design of this system is more reactive to playing dynamics and makes distortion a thing of the distant past.

Integrated Preamplifier Complete with Tuner

The amplified sound of the Yamaha APX700II is steered by an integrated preamplifier and an extensive set of tone controls. The System64 preamp offers a detailed three-band equaliser as well as volume control while an AMF slider toggles the mid-range frequencies in minute detail. This Adjustable Midrange Frequency Function not only helps shape the sound but limits any possible feedback. The built-in tuner is naturally useful and the whole is powered by two AA batteries that are easily inserted into the compartment fitted in the side of the guitar.
